Who is Optum Alaska
Optum Alaska is a health care company who manages the outpatient benefits for Alaska Medicaid participants and the Alaska Department of Health. In collaboration with the State of Alaska, it is Optum Alaska’s mission to transform the outpatient mental health and substance use system to help people reach recovery.
Through Optum management of outpatient services for participants, individuals are now receiving recovery-based treatments and services based upon scientific research by well-respected organizations like the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
Optum Alaska is NOT a mental health or substance use disorder provider. However, we can help you and your family identify a provider to help you with your individual health needs.
